Things come full circle, yet totally different

When I was in second grade, our family drove to Washington, DC. I brought a notebook with me and detailed every moment of the trip. Or, at least, every moment of the first few days. I have a feeling it trailed off, but I look back on it as a fun writing experience.

Tomorrow, we are headed to Washington, DC. We went seven years ago, when Jake was 7 and Zack was 4; I'm sure this will be a different trip, with a fourteen-year-old and an almost-eleven-year-old. (Like, maybe we won't spend an entire day at the Air and Space Museum [though maybe we will!], but will spend more than five minutes at the Smithsonian.) As two teacher-parents, we are hoping Jake and Zack will blog the week: take pictures with their phones, write what we did and what they saw, and maybe even write a few reflections about what they have seen.

Here we go!
